REGISTRATION

 Q. How do I register for a conference?
A.  IRC2010 has two conferences, scientific conference (IRRC28) and Rice Policy & Investment Conference (IRPIC). You may register in one of the conferences in three ways: 

ONLINE: To register online, please click on the desired conference title and enter all the required information.  Online registration requires payment via credit card or telegraphic transfer.

Q: How do I know if my registration submitted on-line was received?
A: You will receive an auto-reply shortly after you submitted the form with the details of your registration. 

Q. How do I pay the registration fee?
A. Payments can be made through Credit Card (only Master and Visa cards are accepted) or by Telegraphic Transfer. For Telegraphic Transfer, please make payment to:

Q:  What Currency can I make for the payment?
A:  We accept only US Dollars.

Q:  How can I confirm that you have received my transfer?
A:  If you paid by telegraphic transfer, you are required to either fax to +662 748 7880 or email irc2010reg@asiacongress.com a copy of the telegraphic transfer confirmation slip. We will acknowledge receipt and send you the confirmation letter to confirm your attendance once the payment has been settled successfully.

Q:  Can I print out the receipt if I register online? 
A:  The receipt will be generated automatically upon payment via credit card. For payment via TT, a confirmation letter/receipt will be sent upon confirmation of the payment. For individuals requiring an official Tax receipt, please email the registration team at irc2010reg@asiacongress.com.

Q:  Can I get a discount?
A:  There are discounts for early registration. The early bird discount is available if you register before 16 August 2010. Group registration of minimum 10 people from the same company/institution can also avail 10% discount. To register as group delegate, please contact IRC2010 Registration at +66 2748 7881 or email irc2010reg@asiacongress.com

Q:  What is included in my registration fee?
A:  Registration fee for conference delegates includes conference materials and entry to the conference sessions, lunch and refreshment breaks, exhibition, opening ceremony and welcome reception. Accompanying person’s fee includes admission to the exhibition, opening ceremony, gala dinner and welcome reception, and a half-day city tour.


Q:  Do I have to register in advance or can I register on-site?
A:  You can register onsite. However, we strongly discourage "walking in" registration as you will not be guaranteed conference materials and entry to the gala dinner or welcome reception. It is best to register in advance. Moreover, the price for on-site registration is higher by 25% to as much as a 100%. The cheapest price is available if you register before 16 August 2010.

Q:  What will I receive when I check in at the Registration Desk?
A:  Pre-registered conference delegates are required to bring the registration confirmation letter and hand it to our Registration Staff. Once registration and payment are confirmed, the delegate will be handed the delegate badge and conference materials.

Q: Are there options for my strict dietary requirements?
A:  The majority of our conferences include buffet style meals, with a variety of foods. Special food requirements such as Halal, Vegetarian and Kosher will be prepared for those delegates who have specified their preferences during the registration.

Q:  What are the Participants Registration hours for questions/assistance?
A:  The registration desk will be opened on:

Nov 8   9:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Nov 9 – 10  8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Nov 11  8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

CONGRESS/CONFERENCE  

Q:  Can anyone attend IRC2010?
A:  IRC2010 is for everyone involved or working for the rice sector and other rice-related industry. The congress has different programs especially designed for the different interest groups. Rice researchers and scientists can attend the scientific conference; rice traders and the business sector can attend the trade conference; policy-makers can attend the Ministerial roundtable meeting; and farmers and manufacturers and others can join the exhibition...

Q:  How can I get involved?
A:  You may participate to the event as a paper or poster presenter, an exhibitor, a sponsor, a delegate, a visitor and/or a supplier. There are many possibilities. Please contact us and we can discuss various ways in which you can be involved.

Q: What is the conference dress attire?
A: Most conferences require business attire or business casual.

Q: Will the conference proceedings be posted in the website?
All presentations at the conference will be posted in the website if speakers allow such.  A delegate then will be given a password to view or download presentation(s).

Q:  What language will sessions be conducted in?
A:  All sessions will be conducted in English.

Q:  Can I bring a camera or video camera to my session?
A:   Yes. However, taking of pictures or video recording the conference sessions that violate copyright laws is strictly prohibited. Taking of pictures or videos, however, is allowed in the common areas and at the exhibition.

Q:  Do you have a policy on cell phones?
A:  Cell phones must be turned off or at least turned to silent mode during conference sessions.

 

EXHIBITION 

Q:  When is the exhibition opened?
A:  The exhibition is open to all delegates and trade visitors on the following days: 

     • Tuesday (9 November 2010):  10:30 – 17:00 hrs
     • Wednesday (10 November 2010):    9:00 – 17:00 hrs
     • Thursday (11 November 2010):    9:00 – 17:00 hrs

Q:  I’m not attending the conference, can I still visit the exhibition?
A:  Yes. Please register as visitor to the exhibition by clicking here. You may also register as trade visitor on-site.

Q:  What are shown in the exhibition?
A:  It will feature the International Rice Farming and Processing Exhibition; the International Rice Research Exhibition, and the International Rice Development Exhibition. In addition, rice scientists will present their most recent scientific discoveries and researches. Manufacturers, exporters, agro-industries, biotech companies, seed producers, and other agencies/NGOs involved in development activities will also present their latest products and services.

 
CANCELLATION 
Q:  Can I get a refund if I cannot attend the conference?
A:  We have refund and cancellation clauses.  Please refer to the registration page for more information.

Q:  How can I transfer my registration to another person?
A:  To transfer your delegate registration to someone else, please inform the Conference Secretariat by emailing irc2010reg@asiacongress.com.

Q:  I want to cancel, how do I request a letter of credit?
A:  To cancel, please inform the Conference Secretariat by emailing irc2010reg@asiacongress.com.
